Chinese History

This subject adopts "politics" and "society" as central themes, employing the principle of "the nearer, the detailed; the further, the succinct." This approach enables students to grasp the critical historical events in ancient China, understand the causes of rule and disorder, the development of society and ethnicity, and comprehend the progression of modern Chinese history. This understanding provides students with a more profound insight into the living background.

 

The objectives of this course are to:

 

  • Stimulate students' interest in the subject, strengthen their autonomous learning ability, and enhance their confidence in mastering the material;
  • Equip students to develop their own understanding and judgement of historical figures, events, and phenomena through independent thinking based on relevant information;
  • Deepen students' understanding of Chinese culture and the current situation in China;
  • Cultivate students' correct outlook on life and values through the words and deeds of historical figures, thereby strengthening their civic awareness;
  • Help students prepare for public examinations and improve their performance.
