Home Economics

The Home Economics aims to raise students’ abilities to:

  • Develop good eating habits, understand the relationship between food, nutrition, and health, and make appropriate food choices to promote personal health.

  • Demonstrate efficient use of management and organisational skills in handling physical and socio-economic resources for self, family, community, and society.

  • Analyse contextual factors contributing to the well-being of individuals, families, and society with the application of knowledge from the food science and technology strand or the fashion, textiles, and clothing strand.

  • Devise and implement strategies to solve complex problems in technological contexts, specifically in food or fashion, using a range of appropriate techniques and procedures.

  • Critically evaluate the impact of social, cultural, economic, scientific, and technological developments on the well-being of individuals, families, and society as a whole.

  • Pursue further studies and lifelong learning in food or fashion-related fields.
